Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts, every 3rd weekend

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $57 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population on a MedSurg/Tele unit with a behavioral health component
Monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias, responding appropriately to changes
Perform Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes with strict sterile technique
Collaborate with psychiatrists and behavioral health techs to manage patients with secondary psychiatric diagnoses
Float to ED psych holds and MedSurg floors as needed, ensuring continuity of care
Participate in orientation and pass required skills labs including SIMs lab

Qualifications

2+ years of recent MedSurg/Tele experience
Level 1 trauma experience required
Current BLS and ACLS certifications
Must pass dysrhythmia exam (2 attempts allowed)
Willing to work with patients with mental illness (psych experience preferred but not required)
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (travel teams must have own vehicles)

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in MedSurg nursing and telemetry monitoring
Skilled in dysrhythmia recognition and interpretation
Experience with Cerner EMR
Competent in Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
Understanding of sterile field maintenance
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
