Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care across antepartum, labor, postpartum and nursery areas with professionalism and compassion
• Perform continuous and intermittent fetal monitoring, interpreting tracings and escalating concerns promptly
• Manage labor and delivery care including assessment, labor support, pushing and immediate newborn care
• Stabilize and resuscitate newborns when needed using NRP protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives and the multidisciplinary team to develop and execute individualized care plans
• Educate and support patients and families through the childbirth process and postpartum transition
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and communicate changes in patient status effectively
• Participate in unit-based quality and safety initiatives to improve maternal and neonatal outcomes

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) credential (required)
• Labor & Delivery experience is required — postpartum-only applicants will not be accepted
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NRP
• Stable and intermediate fetal monitoring competency (required)
• OB circulator experience preferred
• Comfort caring for ~20–30 deliveries per month and managing acuity across antepartum, labor, postpartum and nursery

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong assessment and clinical decision-making in maternal and neonatal care
• Proficiency with fetal monitoring and interpretation (stable & intermediate)
• Neonatal resuscitation (NRP) and immediate newborn care skills
• Ability to manage multiple patients and prioritize in a busy L&D setting
• Effective communication and teamwork with multidisciplinary teams
• Clinical documentation and handoff best practices
