Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, family-centered care to mothers and newborns throughout labor, delivery, postpartum, and nursery care
• Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs, intervening promptly to ensure safe deliveries
• Support breastfeeding education and newborn care to empower new families
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care
• Document patient assessments and care plans accurately while maintaining a calm, reassuring presence

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of recent experience in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Nursery
• Active Michigan RN license
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA
• NRP, STABLE, and AWHONN certifications required
• Prior travel assignment experience required - no first-time travelers

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong assessment skills for both moms and newborns
• Proficiency in fetal heart monitoring and interpretation
• Knowledge of evidence-based postpartum and newborn care practices
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Excellent communication and patient education skills
