Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to mothers and newborns throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum
• Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vitals, intervening as needed to ensure safety
• Assist with inductions, C-sections, and emergency OB procedures like shoulder dystocia and postpartum hemorrhage
• Assess and transition newborns, providing immediate care and education to families
• Collaborate with a team of highly experienced RNs and healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient experiences
• Document patient care accurately in Meditech and CPN systems

Qualifications

• Current and unrestricted RN license in Tennessee or compact state
• BLS and NRP certifications required
• Fetal monitoring training or certification
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience
• Experience with shoulder dystocia, postpartum hemorrhage, and OB emergencies preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong maternal-newborn nursing and assessment skills
• Proficiency in fetal monitoring and CPN central monitoring
• Experience with induction management (Pitocin, Cervidil)
• Comfortable with Meditech documentation
• Skilled in C-section assistance and newborn resuscitation
• Excellent team collaboration and patient education abilities
