Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Direct and coordinate nursing care to achieve the best possible patient outcomes
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide quality, cost-effective, and efficient care
• Serve as a resource person and apply age-specific and culturally sensitive care
• Conduct initial assessments and reassessments every 24 hours
• Provide care for patients from birth to elderly, including post-surgical and behavioral health

Qualifications

• Graduate of an NLN-accredited nursing program
• Current Alaska Registered Nurse license in good standing
• Current BLS certification
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training certification (must obtain)
• New graduates welcome; 3+ years of experience preferred, especially in pediatrics and adult care
• Ability to work flexible shifts including nights and weekends

Education

• Graduate of an NLN-accredited nursing program

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient oral and written communication skills
• Knowledge of the nursing process and care management
• Ability to administer treatments, medications, and interpret diagnostic tests
• Skill in therapeutic communication and behavioral health management
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Mathematical skills for medication dosage and data interpretation
