Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU and PCU
• Monitor and titrate drips including Levophed, amiodarone, heparin, precedex, propofol, and more
• Care for patients with cardiac conditions post CABG or PCI, sepsis, DKA, and respiratory failure
• Collaborate with intensivists, hospitalists, and respiratory therapists to optimize patient outcomes
• Float between critical care and stepdown units as needed, adapting quickly to varying acuity levels
• Document accurately using Paragon charting system and prepare for EPIC transition
• Participate in orientation and maintain ACLS and BLS certifications

Qualifications

• Active RN license (compact accepted)
• ACLS and BLS certification required
• Minimum 3 years of critical care experience
• Experience with drip titration of vasopressors and sedatives
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and every other weekend
• Comfortable floating between ICU and PCU units

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of critical care nursing concepts
• Proficiency in titrating common drips such as Levophed, amiodarone, heparin, precedex, propofol, cardene, nitro, neosynephrine, and dopamine
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation
• Experience with Paragon charting system
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to handle high-acuity situations with composure
