Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during patient exams, procedures, and adjustments to keep visits running smoothly
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and operatory rooms to maintain a safe and spotless environment
• Take dental radiographs, intraoral scans, and impressions using the latest technology
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care, making every visit a positive experience
• Maintain patient records and document treatment plans with accuracy and care

Qualifications

• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) certification in Maryland (or ability to obtain)
• Valid radiology/X-ray certification
• Prior experience as a dental assistant, with orthodontic experience a plus
• Current CPR/BLS certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization techniques, and infection control protocols
• Comfortable using dental practice management software and digital imaging systems
• Excellent communication and patient rapport skills
• A keen eye for detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
