Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the orthodontist during patient exams and procedures, ensuring everything runs smoothly
- Prepare patients for treatment and help them feel at ease from the moment they sit in the chair
- Sterilize and organize dental instruments and keep the treatment area spotless and ready
- Take and develop dental X-rays, capturing clear images for accurate diagnostics
- Maintain precise patient records and support the team with treatment planning
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care to promote lasting smiles
Qualifications
- Active Dental Assistant certification or licensure in Maryland (if applicable)
- Experience in orthodontic assisting is a plus, but passion to learn is just as important
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to connect with patients
- CPR certification is preferred
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical setting
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of dental instruments, materials, and sterilization protocols
- Familiarity with digital X-ray systems and basic dental software
- Excellent patient care and customer service skills
- Attention to detail for accurate records and instrument handling
- Ability to multitask and assist the dentist seamlessly
