Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during patient exams and procedures, ensuring everything runs smoothly
• Prepare patients for treatment and help them feel at ease from the moment they sit in the chair
• Sterilize and organize dental instruments and keep the treatment area spotless and ready
• Take and develop dental X-rays, capturing clear images for accurate diagnostics
• Maintain precise patient records and support the team with treatment planning
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care to promote lasting smiles

Qualifications

• Active Dental Assistant certification or licensure in Maryland (if applicable)
• Experience in orthodontic assisting is a plus, but passion to learn is just as important
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to connect with patients
• CPR certification is preferred
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical setting

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental instruments, materials, and sterilization protocols
• Familiarity with digital X-ray systems and basic dental software
• Excellent patient care and customer service skills
• Attention to detail for accurate records and instrument handling
• Ability to multitask and assist the dentist seamlessly
