Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to a mixed ICU patient population with a 1:2 to 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Manage and monitor patients on mechanical ventilators, including those on advanced hemodynamic support devices
• Perform CRRT, phlebotomy, and administer respiratory treatments as needed
• Interpret telemetry strips and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
• Deliver bedside shift report for every patient handoff to ensure seamless continuity of care
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to provide compassionate, high-quality care
• Float to PCU or the emergency department to care for ICU or PCU holds when needed
• Train and develop specialized skills in Neuro ICU, CVICU, and head and neck flap procedures

Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
• Minimum 36 months of RN experience, including at least 12 months in an ICU
• Previous travel nursing assignment preferred, ideally in a facility using Meditech
• Comfort managing ventilator-dependent patients and reading telemetry strips
• CRRT, Advanced Hemodynamics, and Phlebotomy skills preferred
• BSN preferred; TNCC and advanced certifications a plus

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management
• Advanced hemodynamic monitoring including Swan-Ganz, Impella, and balloon pumps
• CRRT
• Telemetry interpretation
• Phlebotomy
• Meditech documentation system
• Post-operative care for CABG and neuro procedures
• Experience with EVDs, bolts, and Arctic Sun for induced hypothermia
• Respiratory treatments including inhalers and nebulizers
• Bedside shift report and strong communication skills
