Shift Type: 12-hour night shifts, 4 weekend shifts per 4 weeks, holidays based on unit coverage
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate emergency and trauma nursing care in a Level 1 Trauma Center
- Perform rapid patient assessments, interpret telemetry strips, and respond to critical situations with confidence
- Collaborate with physicians, midlevels, and respiratory therapists to stabilize and treat a wide range of emergencies
- Insert foley catheters, change central line dressings, and perform port-a-cath insertions while maintaining a sterile field
- Float between St. Joseph's Main, Westgate, and free-standing ERs to support dynamic patient needs
- Participate in SIMs Lab pass/fail skills validation and orientation to ensure top-notch competency
Qualifications
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (required)
- Minimum of 2 years of emergency department experience
- At least 6 months of Level 1 Trauma experience (required)
- TNCC and ATCN certifications are a plus
- Comfort with floating to multiple campuses and using your own vehicle
- Ability to pass DYS exam and SIMs Lab skills validation (pass/fail)
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency with Cerner EMR and Phillips telemetry monitors
- Strong skills in ECG strip interpretation and critical care interventions
- Solid understanding of sterile field techniques for foley and central line procedures
- Ability to thrive in a high-volume environment (250-300 patients per day) with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Excellent communication and teamwork to manage trauma, burns, psych holds, and a diverse patient mix
