Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic medical radiographic procedures on patients of all ages, from neonate to geriatric
• Operate radiographic equipment to produce high-quality images in the Radiology Department, Emergency Department, Operating Room, and at the bedside
• Explain procedures to patients and ensure proper positioning for optimal views of specified anatomy
• Adjust equipment controls and set exposure factors based on established guidelines and knowledge of each procedure
• Demonstrate effective radiation safety practices and assist the Radiologist as needed
• Interact with various computer programs and systems daily, and perform other duties as assigned by the Radiology Supervisor or Director of Radiology

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology
• Registered or registry eligible Radiologic Technologist
• American Registry of Radiology Technology (ARRT) or graduate student eligible for exam - highly preferred
• Kansas License for Radiology Technology required
• BLS certification from American Red Cross or American Heart Association, or must successfully complete within the first 90 days of employment

Education

• Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of radiologic technology and diagnostic radiographic procedures
• Skilled in patient positioning and radiation safety
• Proficient in operating radiographic equipment
• Excellent patient care and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• ARRT certification and Basic Life Support (BLS) skills
