Candidate Pay Rate: $67 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform thorough physical therapy evaluations and create individualized treatment plans
• Deliver hands-on and exercise-based interventions to improve patient function
• Collaborate closely with nursing and multidisciplinary staff to coordinate care
• Document treatment sessions accurately and maintain timely clinical records
• Educate patients on home programs and safe mobility strategies
• Support a safe therapeutic environment within a correctional facility setting

Qualifications

• Active California Physical Therapist license or eligibility to obtain one
• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program (DPT or equivalent)
• Completion of facility-required orientation (3 weeks) prior to independent work
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
• Comfortable and professional working within a correctional facility environment
• Ability to pass required background checks and facility screenings

Education

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent from an accredited program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in patient assessment, therapeutic exercise, and functional mobility training
• Strong clinical reasoning and ability to design progressive treatment plans
• Excellent documentation and time-management skills
• Clear communication and collaboration with patients and interdisciplinary teams
• Awareness of infection control and safety protocols
