Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, with alternating weekends; a comp day is provided during the week for any weekend days worked

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $58 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations in an inpatient acute care setting, with an expectation of approximately one completed evaluation per hour
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs, diagnoses, and functional goals
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, rehab aides, and PTAs to deliver coordinated, high-quality care
  • Cover the primary acute care unit at Bryan hospital, with minimal additional coverage at College Station acute care as needed
  • Treat a diverse adult patient population including trauma, telemetry, ortho, surgical, critical care, neuro, oncology, and general medical cases

Qualifications

  • Active Physical Therapist (PT) license
  • Current BLS Certification required
  • 2+ years of acute care experience preferred; new grads with strong adult acute clinical rotations including trauma and critical care will be considered
  • Experience with MEDITECH EMR preferred
  • Ability to work alternating weekends and maintain reliable attendance
  • Comfortable working in a Level III trauma center with adult and older teen populations

Knowledge & Skills

  • Inpatient acute care and patient evaluation expertise
  • Knowledge of Level III trauma, telemetry, ortho, surgical, critical care, neuro, oncology, and general medical populations
  • Proficiency with MEDITECH charting system
  • Strong time management and productivity skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborative teamwork with rehab aides and physical therapist assistants
