Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the orthodontist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth and comfortable experience for every patient.
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment, maintaining a spotless and safe clinical environment.
- Take and process dental X-rays with precision, ensuring clear images for accurate diagnosis.
- Provide patients with personalized oral hygiene instructions and post-treatment care guidance.
- Accurately document patient information and update treatment records in dental software like Denticon.
- Collaborate with the dental team to deliver outstanding orthodontic care and exceptional patient service.
Qualifications
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or a graduate of an accredited dental assisting program.
- Current X-ray certification (as required by Maryland state regulations).
- Prior experience in orthodontic assisting is highly valued.
- CPR/BLS certification is preferred.
- Passion for patient care and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization protocols, and infection control standards.
- Comfortable with dental practice management software (e.g., Denticon).
- Excellent communication skills to interact with patients of all ages.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to multitask in a busy orthodontic practice.
