Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth and comfortable experience for every patient.
• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment, maintaining a spotless and safe clinical environment.
• Take and process dental X-rays with precision, ensuring clear images for accurate diagnosis.
• Provide patients with personalized oral hygiene instructions and post-treatment care guidance.
• Accurately document patient information and update treatment records in dental software like Denticon.
• Collaborate with the dental team to deliver outstanding orthodontic care and exceptional patient service.

Qualifications

• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or a graduate of an accredited dental assisting program.
• Current X-ray certification (as required by Maryland state regulations).
• Prior experience in orthodontic assisting is highly valued.
• CPR/BLS certification is preferred.
• Passion for patient care and a positive, team-oriented attitude.

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization protocols, and infection control standards.
• Comfortable with dental practice management software (e.g., Denticon).
• Excellent communication skills to interact with patients of all ages.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Ability to multitask in a busy orthodontic practice.
