Roles & Responsibilities

  • Lead the administrative and operational functions of Women's & Newborn Services across two campuses, aligning with organizational strategy and service line goals.
  • Develop and manage budgets, ensuring responsible and effective use of financial resources to support high-quality care.
  • Drive strategic planning and cultivate partnerships that advance organizational priorities and improve care coordination.
  • Oversee clinical service line operations, including standards of care, clinical pathways, staffing plans, and process improvement.
  • Serve as the administrative leader and liaison for physicians, representing the service line to medical staff committees.
  • Acquire and allocate human, material, and financial resources to meet service line needs and optimize patient flow.
  • Use evidence, quality metrics, and outcomes data to guide operational change and improve systems and procedures.
  • Champion patient- and family-centered care while setting expectations for quality, service, and cost stewardship.

Qualifications

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or other related master's degree required.
  • Current Iowa license to practice as a Registered Nurse required.
  • Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
  • Five (5) years of progressively more responsible leadership positions at or above the manager level in NICU and/or obstetrics, with proven results in improved outcomes.

Education

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or other related master's degree

Knowledge & Skills

  • Leadership and team development with a focus on coaching and feedback.
  • In-depth knowledge of NICU and obstetric care delivery.
  • Financial management, including budgeting and resource allocation.
  • Strategic planning and partnership building.
  • Regulatory compliance and quality improvement.
  • Emotional intelligence and effective change management.
