Roles & Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome young patients and their families, creating a warm and friendly environment
• Assist the pediatric dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring comfort and safety
• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments according to infection control standards
• Take and develop dental x-rays as needed, with careful attention to patient safety
• Educate children and parents on proper oral hygiene and post-treatment care
• Maintain accurate patient records and assist with front-office duties when needed

Qualifications

• Active Dental Assistant certification or state registration in Wisconsin (where applicable)
• Prior experience in a dental office, especially pediatric or family dentistry, is a plus
• Radiography (x-ray) certification is preferred, or willingness to obtain
• A caring, patient, and professional demeanor when working with children
• Ability to stand for extended periods and assist with four-handed dentistry

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization protocols, and OSHA standards
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to connect with kids and parents
• Basic computer skills for patient scheduling and electronic health records
• Organizational skills to keep treatment rooms and supplies ready
• A team player attitude with the flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced environment
