Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during patient examinations and treatments, ensuring a smooth workflow.
• Prepare orthodontic appliances, bands, brackets, and other materials for procedures.
• Take dental X-rays and impressions, and help create treatment plans.
• Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment to ensure a safe environment.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and orthodontic care.

Qualifications

• Certification as a Dental Assistant (CDA) or equivalent.
• Maryland state dental assistant license or permit as required.
• Experience as an orthodontic assistant is a plus.
• Strong communication and patient care skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization techniques.
• Familiarity with orthodontic procedures and dental terminology.
• Proficiency in taking impressions and digital X-rays.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
• Basic computer skills for patient records.
