Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist oral surgeons with surgical procedures, ensuring a smooth and sterile environment
• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments to the highest standards
• Take and process dental x-rays, providing key diagnostic support
• Educate and comfort patients before, during, and after procedures
• Maintain accurate patient records and document procedures
• Manage inventory and ensure surgical supplies are readily available

Qualifications

• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or equivalent training
• Maryland dental radiology certification (or ability to obtain)
• Current BLS/CPR certification
• Previous experience in oral surgery or general dentistry preferred
• Strong communication skills and a caring bedside manner

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization, and aseptic techniques
• Proficiency in taking digital and traditional dental radiographs
• Understanding of oral surgery procedures and patient management
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical setting
• Comfort with dental practice management software
