Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare operatories, instruments, and materials for orthodontic procedures.
- Assist the orthodontist chairside with exams, bonding, adjustments, and wire changes.
- Take digital scans and X-rays to support treatment planning.
- Ensure strict adherence to infection control and sterilization protocols.
- Document patient care and treatment notes accurately in Denticon.
- Educate patients and parents on orthodontic care instructions and hygiene.
Qualifications
- You must hold an orthodontic assistant certification - if you're ortho certified, we want you!
- Dental assisting experience, ideally in an orthodontic setting
- Comfort with Denticon practice management software is a big plus
- Ability to work the 12:30 PM - 8:00 PM shift
- A warm, patient-first attitude and strong communication skills
- Current CPR/BLS certification (if required by state)
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of orthodontic instruments, supplies, and equipment
- Knowledge of dental and orthodontic terminology
- Skill in patient preparation and chairside assistance
- Familiarity with digital radiography and intraoral scanning
- Ability to maintain a sterile and organized workspace
- Strong record-keeping skills with Denticon or similar software
- Excellent interpersonal skills for educating and reassuring patients
