Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during exams, adjustments, and appliance fittings
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and operatory rooms between patients
• Take and process dental radiographs for orthodontic evaluations
• Educate patients and parents on braces care and oral hygiene
• Maintain accurate patient records and treatment notes in Denticon
• Ensure smooth patient flow to keep the office on schedule

Qualifications

• Certified or registered Dental Assistant in Maryland or eligible
• Current X-ray certification preferred
• Previous orthodontic assisting experience is a big plus
• CPR/BLS certification preferred
• Comfortable with dental practice management software, Denticon experience helpful
• Strong communication skills and a welcoming chairside manner

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of orthodontic instruments, materials, and procedures
• Skill in taking digital X-rays and dental impressions
• Ability to maintain a sterile, organized clinical environment
• Excellent multitasking and time management in a fast-paced office
• Patient-focused with empathy and clear communication
