Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor patients' vital signs, including blood pressure and pulse oximetry, before, during, and after procedures
- Assist with nitrous oxide and IV sedation administration, ensuring patient comfort and safety at all times
- Take and process panoramic X-rays to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
- Support oral surgeons during wisdom tooth extraction surgery, maintaining a sterile field and anticipating their needs
- Provide clear, compassionate post-operative instructions to patients and caregivers, promoting smooth recovery
- Prepare and maintain surgical suites, sterilizing instruments and organizing supplies for each procedure
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a dental assistant, ideally in oral surgery or a similar specialty
- Certification in dental assisting (e.g., CDA, RDA) or equivalent on-the-job experience
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Experience with vital sign monitoring and panoramic X-ray acquisition
- Comfortable working with nitrous oxide and IV sedation under the supervision of a licensed provider
- Excellent communication skills to explain post-operative care and answer patient questions
