Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during exams and procedures, ensuring smooth patient flow
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and operatory rooms for each patient
• Take and process dental radiographs as needed
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
• Maintain accurate patient records and treatment notes
• Provide a welcoming, comfortable experience for patients of all ages

Qualifications

• Valid Maryland Dental Assistant certification or licensure as required
• Certification in dental radiology (RHS) or willingness to obtain
• Experience in orthodontic assisting preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Strong attention to detail and infection control standards
• Great communication and patient care skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of orthodontic instruments, brackets, wires, and aligners
• Proficiency with dental practice management software
• Understanding of sterilization and infection control protocols
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Strong interpersonal skills and a caring demeanor
• Familiarity with digital radiography and intraoral scanning
