Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate nursing care to adults with medical, surgical, cardiac, and stroke conditions
• Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms, notifying providers of changes
• Titrate IV drips including Heparin, Cardizem, nitro, and insulin based on protocols
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient admissions, transfers, and discharges
• Document accurately in EPIC while maintaining patient safety and comfort
• Float to other units, including Med/Surg, ICU, and ED, as needed
• Act as a patient advocate and educator for families navigating complex health situations

Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted RN license (compact license accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of PCU/Stepdown nursing experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Experience with EPIC charting system
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility (driver's license verified)
• Must pass an open-book orientation exam with a 90% score
• Comfort titrating IV drips such as Heparin, Cardizem, and nitro

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation
• Titration of IV infusions including Heparin and Cardizem
• Medical-surgical and stepdown patient care
• EPIC electronic health record proficiency
• Collaborative teamwork in a fast-paced unit
• Strong critical thinking and quick decision-making
