Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate occupational therapy services for infants and young children (primarily ages 0–3) in the Infant Child Development program
- Perform comprehensive assessments to identify developmental delays and functional deficits
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focused on ADLs, play, sensory integration, motor, cognitive, and psychosocial skills
- Deliver evidence-based treatment and therapeutic activities that engage the child and family
- Document evaluations, treatment progress, and discharge/transition plans accurately and timely
- Educate and collaborate with families and caregivers to reinforce carryover and functional strategies at home
- Consult and coordinate with interdisciplinary team members and community providers to ensure continuity of care
- Participate in program development, quality improvement, and community outreach to expand access to pediatric services
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy (required)
- Kansas Occupational Therapy License (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification (must be completed within first 90 days of employment)
- Valid Kansas Driver's License (required)
- Pediatric occupational therapy experience preferred (at least one year preferred)
- Strong documentation skills and experience with treatment planning and discharge/transition planning
- Comfort working closely with families and in a community-based Infant Child Development program
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy
Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in pediatric assessment and intervention techniques
- Proficient with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) training and play-based therapy
- Knowledge of sensory integration strategies and neuromuscular development
- Skilled in treatment planning, clinical documentation, and progress measurement
- Strong patient and family education and coaching abilities
- Ability to consult and collaborate effectively across disciplines
- Familiarity with early intervention principles and community resources
