Candidate Pay Rate: $116 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight for overall financial performance of assigned departments and set annual budgets
  • Coordinate nursing service orientation and mentor new staff through preceptor programs
  • Make patient care assignments based on care requirements and staff qualifications
  • Revise and implement nursing policies and procedures to ensure high standards of care
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to conduct patient care conferences and quality improvement activities
  • Manage staffing schedules, approve leave, and ensure adequate coverage
  • Oversee supply and equipment ordering for the department
  • Step into patient care roles as needed to meet changing department needs

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
  • Active Alaska RN license at time of submittal
  • 5 years of professional nursing experience required
  • Minimum 2 years as staff RN in chemotherapy/immunotherapy
  • At least 1 year of supervisory or management experience
  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred
  • Current ACLS certification required; PALS and NRP preferred

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred

Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge of nursing care principles, practices, and patient assessment
  • Proficiency in EHR systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong decision-making and critical thinking abilities
  • Ability to provide leadership and guidance to staff
  • Analytical skills to operate specialized medical equipment
  • Capability to research new products and equipment for nursing services
