Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience
• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and treatment rooms for each patient
• Take and develop dental X-rays and impressions as directed
• Educate patients and families on orthodontic care and oral hygiene
• Maintain accurate patient records and update treatment documentation
• Support the clinical team with denticon software for scheduling and records

Qualifications

• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or completion of an accredited dental assisting program
• Maryland Dental Assistant registration or the ability to obtain it
• CPR/BLS certification required
• Prior orthodontic experience is a plus
• Comfortable using dental practice management software like Denticon

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental terminology and orthodontic procedures
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Attention to detail and commitment to infection control
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Basic computer skills, including EHR/dental software
