Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care and assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, feeding)
• Take and record vital signs, observe patients for changes, and report concerns promptly
• Assist with safe patient transfers and mobility to promote independence and prevent injury
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of patient care and observations
• Follow infection control protocols and help maintain a clean, safe care environment
• Work collaboratively with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to support care plans
• Support patient dignity, comfort, and needs while communicating respectfully with patients and families

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification (PA preferred) — must hold or be able to obtain state-required credentials
• Current CPR/BLS certification or willing to obtain upon hire
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and any facility-required health screenings
• Reliable, compassionate, and patient-focused with strong communication skills
• Previous experience in long-term care or acute care is a plus but not always required

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an approved CNA training program and active CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of basic nursing care principles and infection prevention
• Comfortable with patient lifting/transfer techniques and safe body mechanics
• Good observational skills to notice and report subtle changes in condition
• Basic charting and documentation skills; eagerness to learn facility systems
• Teamwork, time management, and the ability to prioritize patient needs
