Roles & Responsibilities

Assist patients with activities of daily living — bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
Monitor and record vital signs, reporting any concerns promptly to nursing staff
Provide compassionate bedside care and emotional support to residents
Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control procedures
Document care activities accurately in the patient record and communicate changes
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure high-quality care

Qualifications

Current CNA certification (state-required credentials must be active)
Ability to pass background check and any facility-required screenings
Up-to-date immunizations per facility policy (e.g., TB screening, flu)
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Physical ability to assist with patient transfers and mobility needs

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred
Completion of an accredited CNA program and active certification

Knowledge & Skills

Basic patient care techniques and safe transfer/lift practices
Familiarity with infection control and standard precautions
Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
Comfortable with patient documentation and following care plans
Strong observational skills and ability to escalate clinical concerns
Professional bedside manner and compassionate patient interaction
