Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate daily care and assistance with activities of daily living to residents
- Perform routine vital signs monitoring and promptly report changes to the care team
- Assist with safe transfers and mobility, promoting independence whenever possible
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care and resident conditions
- Support a clean, safe environment by following infection control and safety protocols
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary teams to deliver personalized care plans
Qualifications
- Active CNA certification (state registration required; PA preferred)
- Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Completion of an accredited CNA training program
- Successful background check and up-to-date immunizations as required by facility
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Previous long-term care or acute care experience preferred but not required
Education
- High school diploma or GED and completion of an accredited CNA program
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on patient care and ADL assistance
- Basic clinical skills: taking vitals, measuring intake/output, observing changes
- Documentation and charting in resident records
- Infection prevention and safe patient handling
- Effective, compassionate communication with residents and families
- Ability to follow care plans and work collaboratively with nursing staff
