Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents including assistance with activities of daily living
Take and record vital signs accurately and communicate changes promptly
Support safe and comfortable transfers, mobility assistance, and fall prevention
Maintain clear, timely documentation in the resident record and communicate with the care team
Follow infection control procedures and promote a clean, safe environment
Build rapport with residents and families to deliver person-centered care

Qualifications

Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — or eligible to obtain one in Connecticut
Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
Comfortable providing direct resident care with a focus on dignity and respect
Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
Reliable, punctual, and able to pass facility background and health screenings

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of a state-approved CNA program required

Knowledge & Skills

Assisting with ADLs (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding) with patience and respect
Measuring and documenting vital signs accurately
Basic infection control practices and safe patient handling
Familiarity with charting and basic electronic medical records or comfort learning them
Good interpersonal skills for resident-centered care and teamwork
