Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide attentive, compassionate care to patients in an acute care setting, assisting with daily living activities and promoting comfort
  • Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the nursing team, helping ensure timely interventions
  • Assist with patient mobility, transfers, and positioning to maintain safety and prevent falls
  • Support patients with meals, hydration, and personal hygiene to uphold dignity and quality of life
  • Document care provided accurately and partner with nurses and therapists to deliver coordinated care
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe patient environment to support healing and infection prevention

Qualifications

  • Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of Illinois
  • Current BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association preferred)
  • Ability to lift, transfer, and assist patients with mobility needs
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a passion for patient-centered care
  • Prior experience in acute care, hospital, or skilled nursing settings is a plus

Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge of patient care techniques and infection control practices
  • Skill in using electronic health records (EHR) and documenting patient care
  • Understanding of HIPAA and patient privacy regulations
  • Ability to remain calm and adaptable in a fast-paced acute care environment
  • Cultural sensitivity and empathy when interacting with patients and families
