Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, compassionate care to patients in an acute care setting, assisting with daily living activities and promoting comfort
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the nursing team, helping ensure timely interventions
- Assist with patient mobility, transfers, and positioning to maintain safety and prevent falls
- Support patients with meals, hydration, and personal hygiene to uphold dignity and quality of life
- Document care provided accurately and partner with nurses and therapists to deliver coordinated care
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe patient environment to support healing and infection prevention
Qualifications
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of Illinois
- Current BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association preferred)
- Ability to lift, transfer, and assist patients with mobility needs
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a passion for patient-centered care
- Prior experience in acute care, hospital, or skilled nursing settings is a plus
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of patient care techniques and infection control practices
- Skill in using electronic health records (EHR) and documenting patient care
- Understanding of HIPAA and patient privacy regulations
- Ability to remain calm and adaptable in a fast-paced acute care environment
- Cultural sensitivity and empathy when interacting with patients and families
