Athletic Trainer

Location: Mauston, Wisconsin

Start Date: 01-27-2026

Contract Type: Perm

Shift Type: Full-time, 80 hours per pay period; Monday-Friday with evening coverage for events. Occasional weekend and holiday rotation for event coverage.

Hours per Week: 80

Bill Rate: $70,000.0

Benefits

$7,500 sign on bonus
Facility salary range: $50,000.00 to $70,000.00

Roles & Responsibilities

Cover athletic events and after-school activities at a contracted high school
Prevent, evaluate, and manage athletic injuries
Communicate findings and plans with athletes, parents, and coaches
Manage concussions and determine safe return to play
Document treatments and evaluations
Analyze root causes of injuries to prevent future injuries
Provide occupational health and rehab services

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology
1+ year of related work experience
Current Athletic Trainer license in Wisconsin
Certification by the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers
BLS certification required
Valid driver's license

Education

Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology

Knowledge & Skills

Intermediate to expert computer proficiency
Musculoskeletal examination skills
Concussion evaluation skills
Emergency care and occupational health knowledge
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
