Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive assessments, outpatient and aftercare services, and crisis intervention for mental health and substance abuse clients
• Carry a caseload and deliver individual, group, and family counseling/therapy
• Maintain timely and efficient documentation required by funding sources and agency policy
• Attend weekly clinical team and staff meetings to collaborate on client care
• Advocate for clients and maintain effective communication with co-workers and community agencies
• Participate in needs assessments and provide consultation for behavioral health needs in the community
• Represent the agency professionally and ethically in all community interactions

Qualifications

• Active Alaska license (LCSW) is required
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in behavioral health counseling
• Experience with mental health and substance abuse counseling is essential
• Comfortable with crisis intervention and comprehensive clinical assessments
• Strong documentation, case management, and client advocacy skills

Education

• Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
• Individual, group, and family therapy techniques
• Crisis intervention and de-escalation strategies
• Understanding of behavioral health standards, regulations, and professional ethics
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Team collaboration and community networking abilities
