Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Quality Management & Accreditation program across the system, driving strategy and day-to-day operations
• Oversee accreditation, infection prevention and control, employee health screening, patient safety, risk management, compliance, and credentialing activities
• Coordinate and prepare the organization for regulatory and accreditation surveys, serving as the subject matter expert during reviews
• Implement and champion performance improvement processes, including rapid PDSA cycles and system-wide quality initiatives
• Partner with EHR and clinical teams to build and maintain quality measurement capabilities and reporting
• Investigate and resolve complaints, synthesize findings, and deliver actionable recommendations to executive leadership
• Coach, mentor, and supervise quality staff to build a high-performing, accountable team

Qualifications

• RN license or comparable clinical degree required
• Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) required within 18 months of hire
• Master's degree in a health-related or business field preferred
• Minimum five years of healthcare administration or performance improvement management experience
• Minimum three years supervising healthcare professionals
• Proven experience with accreditation standards, infection prevention, patient safety, risk management, and compliance
• Ability and willingness to travel by jet, small aircraft, and ferry as required

Education

• RN license or comparable clinical degree (required)
• Master's degree in a health-related or business field (preferred)
• CPHQ certification (required within 18 months of hire)

Knowledge & Skills

• Deep knowledge of accreditation processes and accrediting body standards
• Expertise in quality management, performance improvement methodologies (including PDSA), and risk management
• Experience with EHR-based quality measurement and reporting
• Strong leadership, supervisory, and team-building skills
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for internal and external audiences
• Program planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Critical thinking and ability to make sound decisions under time pressure
• Familiarity with Alaska Native/American Indian health issues and service delivery models
