Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 8 and 12-hour day/evening shifts starting at 6:30 AM (ending 3:00 PM or 7:00 PM); midshift Monday-Thursday 10:30 AM - 9:00 PM; call rotation includes one 4-hour call after a shift weekly and weekend call every 5 weeks.

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $50 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons during a wide variety of operative procedures, including ortho, neuro, GYN, ENT, and robotic surgeries
• Prepare the operating room with sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team during procedures to ensure seamless operations
• Handle specimens and medications in accordance with hospital policy
• Maintain the sterile field and monitor for any breaks in technique
• Document surgical procedures and patient care accurately in EPIC
• Collaborate with nurses and other team members to provide optimal patient care

Qualifications

• Active BLS certification from the AHA
• CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) preferred, but not required
• Minimum of 2 years of recent OR experience
• Must have experience in neuro and ortho cases, as well as robotic surgery (Da Vinci)
• Willingness to adhere to hospital policies including fingernail policy and radius rule
• Active driver's license for verification of distance from facility

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with EPIC charting system
• Experience with Da Vinci Robot, Stealth navigation, O-arm, and Holmium Laser
• Knowledge of a wide range of surgical specialties, including orthopedics, neurosurgery, gynecologic, ophthalmologic, ENT, and robotic surgery
• Strong understanding of sterile technique and OR protocols
• Ability to function in high-stress, fast-paced environments
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
