Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during a variety of procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and treatment rooms to maintain a safe, welcoming environment
• Take and process dental impressions, radiographs, and scans with accuracy and care
• Educate patients on post-treatment care and help them feel at ease throughout their visit
• Maintain accurate patient records and manage orthodontic supplies using Denticon
• Collaborate with the dental team to deliver outstanding, patient-centered orthodontic care

Qualifications

• Certified or registered dental assistant in Maryland (or willing to obtain certification)
• Previous experience in orthodontic assisting is preferred
• Proficiency with Denticon or similar dental practice management software
• Strong chairside manner and commitment to patient comfort
• Ability to stand for extended periods and assist with patient care throughout the shift
• CPR/BLS certification is a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of orthodontic instruments, materials, and sterilization techniques
• Skill in taking dental impressions, X-rays, and intraoral scans
• Familiarity with patient scheduling and electronic health records
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
• Attention to detail and infection control standards
