Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room by setting up surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies
• Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining a sterile field
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team to ensure smooth, efficient operations
• Handle specimen collection and ensure proper labeling and documentation
• Decontaminate and sterilize instruments according to protocols
• Collaborate with nurses and other OR staff to provide high-quality patient care

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a Surgical Technologist in an operating room setting
• Current BLS certification (AHA)
• Ability to pass a background check and provide supervisory references
• Experience with Cerner EMR and EKG interpretation preferred
• Proficiency in robotic, urology, ENT, GYN, ortho, and plastics cases a plus
• Must not have been directly employed by CommonSpirit affiliated facilities within the past year

• Surgical technology and operating room procedures
• Sterile technique and infection control practices
• Robotics (General and Gyn), Urology, ENT, GYN, Ortho (Joint and Sports med), Podi, and Plastics
• Cerner EMR proficiency
• EKG interpretation
• BLS certification
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
