Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth patient experience
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and treatment rooms to maintain a safe, clean environment
• Take and process dental X-rays and impressions with precision and care
• Educate patients and families on proper oral hygiene and orthodontic care instructions
• Maintain accurate patient records and update charts in the dental software system
• Work collaboratively with the dental team to provide exceptional, personalized care

Qualifications

• Active Maryland Dental Assistant license or certification, or ability to obtain
• Certification in dental radiography/X-rays required
• Previous experience as an orthodontic or dental assistant is a plus
• CPR/BLS certification required
• Comfortable working with patients of all ages

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization techniques, and orthodontic procedures
• Strong communication and patient interaction skills
• Proficiency with dental practice management software
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment
