Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms with all necessary instruments, equipment, and supplies for a variety of surgical cases.
• Assist surgeons and nurses during procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient flow.
• Maintain a sterile field and follow strict aseptic techniques to keep patients safe.
• Operate and troubleshoot DaVinci robotic systems with confidence and precision.
• Handle and pass instruments and implants during total joint arthroplasties and general orthopedic surgeries.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to anticipate needs and adapt to the dynamic pace of the OR.

Qualifications

• Current BLS certification (AHA) required.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience as a Surgical Tech in an acute care OR setting.
• Must have completed at least one travel assignment successfully.
• Proficiency with DaVinci robotic cases and total joints independently is a must.
• Ability to respond to call within 30 minutes and cover holiday/weekend call as needed.
• Flexible and dependable with a positive, team-first attitude.

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of surgical instruments, sterile technique, and OR protocols.
• Hands-on experience with Cerner charting system.
• Familiarity with general orthopedics, robotic, bariatric, urology, GYN, and plastic surgery cases.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Adaptability to varying schedules and case mix.
