Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain a sterile environment for surgical procedures
• Set up and arrange surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies
• Anticipate the needs of the surgeon during operations
• Assist the surgical team with gowning, gloving, and safe handling of specimens
• Document and track surgical supplies and equipment usage
• Collaborate with nursing and surgical staff to ensure smooth workflow

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program (CAAHEP/ABHES) or NBSTA certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a surgical technologist

Education

• High School Diploma or GED
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program (CAAHEP/ABHES) or NBSTA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in sterile technique and aseptic practices
• Proficiency in preparing surgical equipment and instrumentation
• Strong understanding of surgical procedures to anticipate surgeon needs
• Working knowledge of medical terminology
• Experience with electronic medical record documentation (Point Click preferred)
• Familiarity with operating room workflows and safety protocols
