Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adults with diverse conditions including cardiac, respiratory, stroke, vascular, and renal diagnoses
• Titrate critical drips such as Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and insulin with precision
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips, ensuring early detection of cardiac changes
• Manage high-flow oxygen therapy and assess patients' respiratory status effectively
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered care in a fast-paced PCU environment
• Float to MedSurg or ICU as needed to support patient care across units

Qualifications

• Active RN license required (compact license accepted)
• At least 2 years of PCU or stepdown nursing experience
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Competency in arterial line management
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• Must reside outside the 50-mile radius and not be employed by any CommonSpirit or CHI facility

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in cardiac and stepdown nursing care
• Drip titration and vasoactive medication management
• Telemetry interpretation and rhythm recognition
• Arterial line insertion, monitoring, and troubleshooting
• High-flow oxygen therapy and respiratory support
• EPIC electronic health record proficiency
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to succeed in a culturally diverse environment
