Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and care for stepdown patients transitioning from critical care
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders
• Assess patient vitals and recognize early signs of deterioration
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to create individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families on recovery and care instructions
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient status

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Kansas (compact accepted)
• DCI/BVP certification required
• Experience in critical care or stepdown nursing
• Ability to pass Prime Core Competencies Exam, Skills Checklist, and Specialty Exam
• Up-to-date on required health screenings and vaccines
• A passion for patient care and teamwork

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of stepdown and critical care nursing
• Comfortable with telemetry monitoring and interpreting rhythms
• Skilled in patient assessment and early intervention
• Knowledge of medication administration and IV therapy
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Ability to stay calm and focused in high-pressure situations
