Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to a diverse Med Surg patient population
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans for assigned patients
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Float to various Med Surg units to support staffing needs and ensure continuity of care
• Educate patients and families on health management and discharge planning
• Document patient information clearly and timely in the electronic health record

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of Rhode Island (or compact NLC) required
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• At least one year of recent Med Surg or acute care nursing experience preferred
• Ability to adapt quickly to different units and patient populations

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Proficiency in medication administration and IV therapy
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems
• Time management and organizational skills to handle multiple priorities
