Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) - Long-Term Care/Rehab

Location: Oregon, Missouri

Start Date: 08-31-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts, 35 guaranteed hours per week; start times flexible between 6:00 AM and 10:00 AM. No weekends required unless a holiday falls during the week.

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $62 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Screen, evaluate, and treat patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders while developing individualized plans of care.
  • Use standardized assessments and evidence-based practice to guide clinical interventions and ensure the best possible outcomes.
  • Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and maintain accurate, timely electronic documentation.
  • Provide compassionate counseling and education to patients, families, caregivers, and other care providers.
  • Collaborate with the care team through patient care conferences, utilization reviews, and regular communication about progress and barriers.
  • Deliver comprehensive discharge summaries and ensure all services are documented per regulatory requirements.
  • Support the next generation of SLPs by supervising and mentoring CFY and student Speech-Language Pathologists.

Qualifications

  • Active Missouri SLP license, or ability to obtain prior to start
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) required
  • Minimum 1 year of SLP experience required; new grads with Level II clinical experience are welcome to apply
  • Long-term care or rehabilitation experience required
  • Strong preference for candidates with 3+ years of active CCS experience
  • Reference required at time of submission

Knowledge & Skills

  • Expertise in patient evaluation, standardized assessments, and evidence-based treatment planning
  • Strong electronic documentation skills and familiarity with discharge planning
  • Ability to counsel patients and families, and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams
  • Knowledge of long-term care and rehabilitation settings
  • Supervision skills for CFY and student SLPs
  • Understanding of ASHA and Missouri state practice requirements
