Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing abilities.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve patient communication and swallowing function.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care and monitor progress.
• Educate patients and families on therapeutic techniques and strategies for continued success.
• Document patient evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries accurately and in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology required.
• Current California Speech-Language Pathologist license in good standing.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred.
• Experience in skilled nursing or rehabilitation settings highly desired.
• Strong clinical and documentation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare teams and adapt to patient needs.

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of evidence-based practices in speech and language therapy.
• Understanding of swallowing disorders and modified diets.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency in electronic health records.
• Compassionate and patient-centered approach.
• Ability to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards in skilled nursing facilities.
