Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to surgical and orthopedic patients, ensuring comfort and safety throughout their stay
• Assess, plan, and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team
• Administer medications and treatments with precision, monitoring patients for response
• Educate patients and families on procedures, recovery, and discharge instructions
• Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (PointClick)
• Collaborate with clinical leaders, charge nurses, and multidisciplinary team members to ensure high-quality outcomes
• Respond to changes in patient condition and escalate appropriately, maintaining a calm and professional demeanor

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Maine RN license
• BLS certification required (ACLS required within 30 days of hire)
• Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience
• Telemetry experience preferred
• MOAB or CPI certification preferred
• Team player with strong communication and multitasking abilities

Education

• Bachelor's Degree preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and patient care skills
• Proficient in telemetry monitoring (preferred)
• Familiarity with PointClick EMR (preferred)
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of surgical and orthopedic nursing practices
