Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to patients with joint replacements, fractures, colon resections, COPD exacerbations, prostatectomies, cellulitis, sepsis, ortho trauma, GI bleeds, pneumonia, and failure to thrive
• Titrate drips including Heparin, lidocaine, and ketamine
• Monitor telemetry and collaborate with telemetry techs
• Manage multiple discharges and admissions daily, ensuring efficient patient flow
• Perform hourly rounding and respond promptly to patient needs
• Float to other medical surgical areas as needed

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
• BLS certification required (AHA)
• ACLS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience in MedSurg or telemetry
• Driver's license required for verification of residency
• Willing to comply with facility's fingernail policy (no artificial nails)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in MedSurg and telemetry nursing
• Experience with EPIC charting system
• Knowledge of ortho trauma diagnosis and treatment
• Ability to titrate IV drips and manage PCA pumps
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Cultural competence to care for diverse patient populations
