Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality respiratory care to patients across a variety of acute and critical care settings
• Assess patient respiratory status, develop individualized care plans, and adjust treatments based on response
• Administer respiratory therapies including oxygen, nebulizer treatments, and ventilator management
• Respond quickly and confidently to airway emergencies and assist with life-saving procedures
• Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions and home care techniques
• Document patient progress accurately and collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and the care team

Qualifications

• Current Respiratory Therapist license in Virginia (CRT or RRT)
• BLS certification required; ACLS strongly preferred
• 12.5-hour shift availability with flexible per diem scheduling
• Prior experience in acute care, critical care, or emergency settings is a plus
• Strong patient assessment and clinical problem-solving skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of respiratory therapy principles and protocols
• Proficiency with mechanical ventilation settings and weaning processes
• Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and charting systems
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for patient and family education
• Attention to detail and ability to document accurately in high-stress situations
• Knowledge of infection control practices and patient safety standards
