Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform thorough dental cleanings and plaque removal to keep smiles healthy
• Take and develop dental X-rays with precision and care
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care
• Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures
• Document patient medical histories and treatment plans accurately
• Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment following infection control standards

Qualifications

• Active Dental Hygienist license in Virginia
• Current CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association (or equivalent)
• Previous experience as a dental hygienist in a clinical setting preferred
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work a single-day assignment with a reliable schedule

Education

• Associate's degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of dental anatomy and periodontal disease
• Proficiency with dental radiography techniques
• Skill in patient education and oral hygiene instruction
• Familiarity with electronic health records and dental software
• Understanding of OSHA and infection control standards
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced dental practice
