Location: College Station, Texas

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM; 1 weekend per month on call 7:00 AM - 7:00 AM

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $55 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for surgery with precision and care in a fast-paced Pre-Op unit
  • Monitor and recover patients in PACU, ensuring smooth transitions post-procedure
  • Perform IV starts, EKGs, and assist with nerve blocks while providing top-notch compassionate care
  • Float seamlessly between campuses to support team needs and make a real impact
  • Collaborate with a tight-knit team including a hands-on charge nurse who jumps in to help

Qualifications

  • Active RN license with at least 2 years of experience
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
  • Comfortable with IV starts and willing to cover Phase 2 recovery
  • Pass Basic Dysrhythmia test (83% needed, three attempts allowed)
  • First-time travelers welcome - come grow with us

Education

  • BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

  • Acute Pre-Op experience preferred
  • Familiarity with general surgeries like choles, hernias, and GYN procedures
  • EKGs and nerve blocks with orientation provided
  • EMR proficiency in SIS and Meditech
  • Team player ready to float and adapt
